SPAGHETTI INCIDENT

The Spaghetti Joint opened its doors in the Lower East Side on May 26, 2015. The challenge for us was to create a logo reflecting the spirit and soul of one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Manhattan. We experimented a lot by studying flags, post WW2  iconographies, and revolutionary political movements from the 70s and 80s.

Spaghetti Incident wants to be the connecting point between the Italian traditions and the L.E.S. culture: rock-n-roll,  the art movements, the politics and the class struggle.

The logo is a militant of the new street food culture, an icon with pirate flag resemblance, a colander helmet to show we are ready for anything that is coming. The name (Spaghetti Incident) is borrowed from the Guns N’ Roses 1993 album and the ‘pasta cone to go’ was awarded one of the best food ideas of 2015 in New York City, and was featured on the New York Times, Gothamist and more.
